Augustusburg lies 13 kilometres from Chemnitz and is bordered by the valleys of the rivers Zschopau and Flöha. Situated atop the 516-metre high Schellenberg mountain, the famous Renaissance castle of Augustusburg awaits your visit, with its interesting museums including Europe's largest motorcycle museum, the Ore Mountains animal and bird life museum and the coach museum. Further interesting destinations include Scharfenstein Castle (an "adventure castle") and the picturesque Zschopautal valley.
