Hotel information

Our hotel has direct access to the therapy centre and the indoor swimming pool of the rehabilitation centre next door.

Room information

The hotel offers 20 double and 14 single rooms with views of the forest. They are all en suite, spacious and equipped with the usual facilities. The hotel has two levels without a lift. Bathrobes, hair-dryers etc. are available on request. The two junior suites can be used as shared rooms, suitable for several people.

Food & beverage

Our breakfast buffet is served between 07:30 and 10:00 in our cosy restaurant. For lunch we serve varying 3-course meals including options suitable for vegetarians, diabetics and large and small appetites. In the evenings we serve a cold buffet from 17:45 to 19:00 with a small drinks selection. Outside restaurant hours you can eat at the caféteria in the adjoining clinic.

Area information

The hotel is located next to the forest in the middle of the “green heart” of Germany, 350 metres above sea level. There are many charming hiking paths to discover in the beautiful surrounding landscape. The spa town is famous due to its carbonic spring. The legendary “Rennsteig” hiking trail passes nearby and there is also the “Höhenkammweg” hiking path in the Thuringian Forest . Interesting destinations are the town of Eisenach and its museum devoted to Bach the composer; the Wartburg Castle, the classical music towns of Weimar and Erfurt, the theatre town Meiningen, the town of Schmalkalden with its timbered houses, the Altersteiner Palace with its park, the Trusetaler waterfall, the salt works Bad Salzungen and the mine adventure park Merkers.

Travel information

By car: - Coming from the A7 drive onto the A4 - Take the exit Friedewald and then take the B62 towards Bad Salzungen Coming from the A4 Erfurt - Take the exit Waltershausen and follow signs to Bad Liebenstein or take the exit Eisenach and take the B19 towards Meiningen and then follow signs to Bad Liebenstein. In Bad Liebenstein drive along Heinrich Mann Straße until you come to the edge of the forest where you will find the hotel. By train: Take the train to Eisenach and then the bus number 31 to Bad Liebenstein. Exit at the stop Heinrich Mann Klinik.
