Guests are most welcome to use the free internet access provided in each room. Many rooms have their own balcony, offering splendid views of the Rhön Mountains.

The kitchen uses only the freshest and highest quality, local ingredients in the hearty meals served in the restaurant. On Sundays and national holidays, the Zur Grünen Kutte can treat you to home-made dumplings. You can sample some of the local game and lamb specialities here too. The Thuringian-style Rostbratwurst (grilled sausage) and the Rostbrätl (grilled sausage meat) are particularly recommended, especially for summer barbeques outside.

Area information

The outstanding landscape of the Rhön Biosphere Reserve offers stunning views in all seasons and is ideal for hiking, cycling and Nordic walking.

Travel information

The nearest train station is Bad Salzungen (12.5km away) and there are usually taxis at the station. If you let them know your arrival time, the hotel can pick you up for a small charge. You can also take a bus to the neighbouring town of Urnshausen.
