Swimming pool - 4 m x 16,6m - seems to be almost a part of the lake. When clouds gather outside or snowflakes envelop the landscape in the winter, there is nothing more beautiful than swimming with a view of the wild rhythm of nature's forces. Heated indoor pool temperature 30°C, air temperature 31°C. Pool facility is free to all residents of the hotel. The hotel has two saunas. If ever the saying: "a healthy mind in a healthy body" was true, it holds true in Bohinj. How pleasantly hot it is on the fragrant spruce that covers the inside of the sauna. For massage and solarium bookings are made at the hotel reception. The gymnasium, well equipped for those at the beginners', intermediate or advanced level, offers that pleasant tiredness which will make us sleep tight and gather new strength. Hotel guests have a free entrance. Our hotel also offers a mini golf course with 17 holes in the near park with a view of the Bohinj lake for an entertaining relaxation. Hotel quests can borrow mini golf equipment free of charge at hotel reception.

The chefs know very well what food will please the guest who returns from a beautiful mountaineering adventure, or the skier in the winter who has come under the spell of the intoxicating white world outside. Many different wines of the best Slovene wine producers and superb culinary specialties are offered in the restaurant Zlatovčica. The restaurant got its name after the Bohinj lake fish – Zlatovčica (char) – which is also our specialty. Different tastes and seasonal specialties are combined daily by the hotel chefs. Dining room Vrtovin has a terrace with a view of the Bohinj lake. At self-service breakfasts we recommend different specialties from Bohinj like Bohinj cheese, cottage cheese and milk. Dinner is served for half-board guests. You can choose between four different menus that also include dishes for vegeterians. Our guests can also enjoy their time and the beautiful view of the surrounding nature on the hotel terrace, where they are served with diverse culinary specialties.

When arriving from Ljubljana or the Karavanke tunnel, drive in the direction towards Bled. Follow the main road through Bled towards Bohinj and continue your way along the Bohinj Lake towards the village of Ukanc. When you arrive to Zlatorog Hotel in Ukanc, you already can see both apartment houses. Pass the hotel and you will see Erlah Restaurant on the left side of the road. Pass the restaurant and continue on the main road (100 m) - after a few metres you will come directly to our house.

What’s more, they are also in the immediate vicinity of the lake’s swimming area, a self-service grocery, post and currency exchange offices, restaurants, an indoor swimming pool, a mini-golf course, a climbing wall, riding facilities, a rental service for boats, bicycles and other sports equipment, and a bus stop.

Nearby restaurants are: Restaurant Kristal with local and international cuisine (200m, Restaurant CENTER has good pizzas (200m) and Restaurant Vrtovin in hotel Jezero is a good choice (300m). The most recommended restaurant is Triglave, which has a wide variety of local and international cuisine and the best terrace in the valley (800m).

Recommended sites to see: Lake Bohinj (300m) - swim in it, skate on it, kayak it or just walk around it (easy walk, 12km). Waterfall Savica (9 km) - magnificent waterfall with 78m in height. Easy accessible. Ski resort Vogel (4km) - One of the best ski resort in Slovenia with great views on Slovenia's highest mountain. In summer is a great starting point for treks and hikes. Mt. Triglav - (2-day trekking) climb Slovene highest mountain and accomplish one of the "must" tasks of every Slovenian.

Apartments Zdovc offers you 10 comfortably furnished apartments for 2 to 6 people with fully equipped kitchens. Apartments consist of a bedroom, a living room, a dining area and a kitchen. Each apartment has a terrace or a balcony. After an adventurous day, you can join other guests in the lounge or relax in the sauna. There is separate ski and bicycle storage and free internet access. The whole house can be rented for groups of more than 20 people.

Travel information

Leave the Ljubljana north highway ring at the Šiška exit and continue the journey on the Gorenjska highway and motorway. Leave the motorway at the Bled exit (about 60 km from Ljubljana), pass through Bled and Bohinjska Bistrica. The building also features a post office, a tourist association and a shop. Buses can also park in our parking lot.
