Boasting a Japanese restaurant and a hot public bath with city views, Maruko Hotel is a 5-minute drive from Kumamoto Castle. Rooms have tatami floors and include a private bathroom. Guests at the Hotel Maruko can try a cup of green tea and experience the comfort of traditional Japanese futon beds. Shoji paper screens and a spacious seating area are also featured. Tori-cho Suji Tram Station is just a 1-minute walk from the hotel. Suizen-ji Garden and Kato Shrine are a 10-minute drive, and Honmyo-ji Temple is a 20-minute taxi ride away. Public baths are open between 06:00-0:800 and 16:00-00:00. Baths are separated by sex and bathing suits are not permitted. The family-use private bath is open from 16:00 to 21:00. It is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that guests with a tattoo may not be permitted to enter public bathing areas and other public facilities.
